File Processing & Security

This is the most important section of our policy. When you use any tool on JD PDFs — your files are processed entirely within your own web browser.

How it works technically

JD PDFs uses WebAssembly (WASM) and JavaScript libraries (PDF-lib, PDF.js, Fabric.js) that run directly inside your browser tab. When you select a file, it is read into your browser's local memory via the FileReader API. All manipulation happens there. The output is generated in memory and offered to you as a download — entirely within your browser.

What this means for you

• Your files are never uploaded to any server.
• We have no technical ability to view, copy, or store your documents.
• Sensitive documents (legal contracts, medical records, financial statements) are completely safe to process.
• When you close the browser tab, all file data is cleared from memory automatically.
• Processing works even if you disconnect from the internet after the page has loaded.

Cookies & Advertising

JD PDFs is a free service supported by advertising. We use Google AdSense to display ads on our site.

What cookies are set

• Google AdSense cookies: Google may set cookies to serve personalised advertisements based on your previous browsing activity. These are third-party cookies set by Google, not JD PDFs directly.
• Google Analytics cookies: Used to understand aggregate visitor behaviour. These are anonymised and contain no personal file data.
• No first-party tracking cookies are set by JD Group itself.

Managing cookies

The best security measure is not collecting sensitive data in the first place — which is the approach JD PDFs takes. Because your files never leave your device, they are not vulnerable to data breaches on our end.
